ShipTime supports Canada Post’s carbon-neutral domestic ground shipping services, giving customers access to greener delivery options when shipping within Canada.
Canada Post currently includes carbon-neutral shipping with Regular Parcel™ and Expedited Parcel™ services. Canada Post states that it purchases verified carbon offsets equivalent to the greenhouse gas emissions generated by these services.
Which Canada Post services are carbon-neutral?
For eligible domestic shipments within Canada, carbon-neutral shipping is included with:
- Regular Parcel™
- Expedited Parcel™
Canada Post also identifies its flat rate boxes as carbon-neutral, though those are separate from the standard ShipTime parcel workflow.
Is there an extra charge for carbon-neutral shipping?
No additional carbon-neutral fee is applied by Canada Post for Regular Parcel™ and Expedited Parcel™ services. The carbon-neutral feature is included as part of these services.

How do I ship carbon-neutral with Canada Post in ShipTime?
- Log in to your ShipTime account.
- Create a shipment within Canada.
- Review the available Canada Post services.
- Select an eligible Regular Parcel™ or Expedited Parcel™ service.
- Complete the shipment as usual.
Will my customer see that the shipment is carbon-neutral?
If ShipTime displays a Carbon Neutral indicator or badge on the applicable tracking experience, customers may be able to see that the selected Canada Post service includes carbon-neutral shipping.
Does carbon-neutral shipping mean there are no emissions?
No. The shipment still generates emissions.
“Carbon-neutral” in this context means Canada Post offsets the greenhouse gas emissions associated with the eligible service by purchasing accredited carbon offsets.
