How to Switch to Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) in ShipTime
I’d keep this as a standalone article. It covers a fairly specific setup process with two verification methods, multiple screenshots, and eligibility requirements. It would become too large if merged into the general credit-account article.
I’d make the title a little cleaner and keep the article focused on setup rather than promotional benefits.

Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) allows eligible ShipTime customers to have payments withdrawn directly from their bank account instead of using a credit card for their credit-account billing.

To switch to PAD, your ShipTime account must have:
- an active Credit Account
- a payment method currently associated with the credit account
If you do not yet have a credit account, see How to Apply for a ShipTime Credit Account.

Once verification is complete, the bank account will be available for your PAD payments.
What happens after PAD is set up?
Once your bank account has been successfully connected and verified:
- the bank account will appear under Settings > Payments
- it will be available for your credit-account billing
- manually verified accounts will remain Pending until verification is completed
Why use Pre-Authorized Debit?
PAD can help customers with credit accounts:
- reduce reliance on credit cards
- manage recurring weekly billing directly through a bank account
- maintain a consistent payment method as shipping volume grows
