Why Can’t I Change My Pickup Time in ShipTime?

Pickup scheduling options vary by courier. Some carriers use standard pickup windows that cannot be changed, while others allow you to request a more specific timeframe.

Which couriers have fixed pickup windows?

For FedEx and Nationex, pickup windows are generally set by the carrier and cannot be customized when the pickup is scheduled.

These pickups typically fall within a standard daytime window, such as 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

FedEx Ground and Nationex shipments may also require pickup to be scheduled for the next business day rather than the same day.

Which couriers allow adjustable pickup windows?

Other couriers available through ShipTime, such as Canpar and Loomis, may allow you to enter or adjust a requested pickup window.

However, a requested pickup timeframe is not a guaranteed appointment time. The courier will make every reasonable effort to arrive within the requested window, but operational conditions may affect the actual pickup time.

Why can’t a specific pickup time be guaranteed?

Pickup routes are managed by the courier and can be affected by factors such as:

  • driver routes and daily shipment volume
  • traffic and weather
  • earlier pickups and deliveries
  • service-area coverage
  • operational delays

For this reason, even when ShipTime allows you to enter a preferred pickup window, the courier may not be able to guarantee an exact arrival time.

What if I receive an error when scheduling a pickup?

If ShipTime displays an error when you try to schedule or modify a pickup:

  1. Review the pickup date and available time window.
  2. Confirm that all pickup details and contact information are complete.
  3. Check whether the selected courier allows the requested pickup date or timeframe.
  4. Try adjusting the pickup information if another option is available.
